Learn how to use the billing hub, invoice a client immediately, or schedule an invoice for a future date!

Ignition’s centralized client billing puts you in control. Easily access and take action on all your upcoming billings from the new billing hub to get paid faster and reclaim your cash flow.

How to use the Billing hub

The new Billing page helps you manage upcoming and outstanding billing activity through two views:

Unbilled

Displays services that require manual billing, including:

  • Usage-based services that have reached billing thresholds

  • Fixed-price services configured for manual invoicing

  • Additional services awaiting invoicing

Overdue Billing Items

Overdue manual billings will stand out with a red "Overdue" badge and appear at the top of the list for visibility on invoices that have yet to be billed.

Billing hub is made up of four core components:

  1. Invoice Now

  2. Schedule Invoice

  3. Delete

  4. Filters

Scheduled

Displays automatically generated upcoming invoices and billing items. You can view:

  • View projected billing for the current and upcoming months

  • See expected revenue from future invoices

  • Identify whether payments are enabled on upcoming invoices

  • Assess potential accounts receivable risk before invoices are sent

Editing Scheduled Invoices

Selecting a scheduled billing item opens the invoice editing drawer, where you can:

  • Change the invoice date

  • Update pricing

  • Move the invoice back to manual billing (which moves it to the Unbilled section)

  • Modify other invoice details as needed


How to instantly invoice a client

To invoice instantly for a single client in the Billing Hub,

  1. Select the relevant billing item (or multiple items to consolidate on one invoice) and click Invoice now

  2. Review the price and quantities of your billing items, making any changes as needed

  3. Select a payment method to use Next

  4. Click Issue invoice

  5. If you have an accounting ledger connected, then after creating the invoice you’ll be taken to the Send Invoice screen.

  6. On the Send Invoice screen, you can:

    • Set email recipients

    • Customize the email subject line

    • Add a personalized message to the invoice email

    • You can also enable online payments for the invoice, allowing clients to pay easily. To learn more, read this article.

  7. When ready, click Send Invoice. Alternatively, skip sending the notification email.


Scheduling an invoice for the future

To schedule an invoice for a future date in the Billing hub,

  1. Select the relevant billing item (or multiple items to consolidate on one invoice) and click Schedule invoice

  2. Review the price, quantities and select a specific future date that you'd like this to be invoiced on (top left-hand corner)

  3. Select a payment method to use → Next

  4. Click Schedule invoice


How to delete billing items

For manual billing items that don't need to be invoiced, you can delete billing items in Ignition. The bulk delete function lets you select and delete billing items from your entire client list.

Note: There is no undelete function. Deleting an invoice in Ignition won't affect invoices in your connected ledger.

To delete manual billing items in the Billing hub,

  1. Select the relevant billing item or multiple items → Delete.

  2. Confirm you would like to delete the selected items → Delete.


Filters

To give you more control and granularity, use Filters to select additional attributes to filter by.
