Viewing app clients in Ignition

When you have connected Xero, QuickBooks, XPM or ProConnect, you'll be able to see your client list in Ignition whilst selecting a client in the proposal creation screen.

Please note: Your client list in a connected app will not appear in your Ignition client's list, unless you have created a proposal for them or have imported them manually.

View and add clients from Xero

If you have Xero connected to Ignition, you can select from any Xero contacts that are customers (or future customers) when creating new proposals. You'll see the Xero logo to the right of all relevant Xero clients.

Please note: When connected, the client list will not automatically import all clients at once - when you create a proposal, it will allow you to import them one at a time. If you prefer to import all of your clients, the best method will be to use the CSV import.

The Xero contact information will be copied over to Ignition to create a new client.

If a supplier needs to be sent a proposal, you can create a new client in Ignition with the same name. When the first invoice is created in Xero, the client and contact will be synced at that point.

View and add clients from QuickBooks

If you have QuickBooks connected to Ignition, you can select any existing QuickBooks customer when creating new proposals. You'll see the QuickBooks logo to the right of all relevant QuickBooks clients.

Please note: When connected, the client list will not automatically import all clients at once - when you create a proposal, it will allow you to import them one at a time. If you prefer to import all of your clients, the best method will be to use the CSV import.

The QuickBooks customer information (client name, contact name and client email address) will be copied over to Ignition to create a new client.

View and add clients from Xero Practice Manager

If you have Xero Practice Manager (XPM) connected to Ignition, you can select any existing XPM client when creating new proposals. You'll see the XPM logo to the right of all relevant XPM clients.

Please note: When connected, the client list will not automatically import all clients at once - when you create a proposal, it will allow you to import them one at a time. If you prefer to import all of your clients, the best method will be to use the CSV import.

View and add clients from ProConnect

If you have ProConnect connected to Ignition, you can select any existing ProConnect client when creating new proposals. You'll see the ProConnect logo to the right of all relevant ProConnect clients.

Please note: When connected, the client list will not automatically import all clients at once - when you create a proposal, it will allow you to import them one at a time. If you prefer to import all of your clients, we suggest converting them into an Ignition client via the method above.

Converting app clients to Ignition clients

If you would like to convert your QuickBooks, Xero or ProConnect clients to an Ignition client, navigate to Clients → App clients → Connected app.

The Import screen will list all of your clients in that connected app.

Click a client to convert it to an Ignition client, or link it to an existing Ignition client to set-up automatic syncing.

If you convert an app client to an Ignition client, Ignition will first check for any potential matches in Ignition to prevent duplicates clients.

If a duplicate is detected because of a matching email address or the same client name, you'll have the opportunity to link your app client with that Ignition client instead of converting them.

Please note: There has to be an exact match of the client name or email address in order for Ignition to raise the potential duplicate.

Linking to an existing Ignition client

The benefit of linking an app client to an existing Ignition client is to prevent duplicate clients in both systems which can get tedious to fix.

To link your connected app clients to an Ignition client, navigate to Clients → App clients → Connected app → Import.

Find and select the clients you would like to link → select Next → select Link to Ignition client, Import as New or Don't Import.
