Ignition integrates with QuickBooks to automatically create and push invoices according to the billing information specified in your proposals.

See the steps below on how to connect QuickBooks to your Ignition account.

Note: We do not currently support the use of multiple accounting platforms at once. If you have integrated with one platform, you must switch off that integration before connecting to a different platform.

How to connect to your QuickBooks Account

1. Go to AppsQuickBooks and click Connect to QuickBooks.

You'll be prompted to connect your QuickBooks account through a pop-up box, if you aren't already logged in. You will then be asked to select a company to authorise the connection between Ignition and QuickBooks.

Note: If you have multiple QuickBooks files, be sure to connect the right one!

Once you've authorized the connection, you will be redirected back to Ignition.

2. Now, we'll need to set your App Settings before you can enable the integration. Please see this article on configuring the specific QuickBooks Settings.

3. You will be required to map your tax rates from QuickBooks. If you charge tax, please ensure that this is completed to enable tax on your proposals!

Click this article to read more about configuring and mapping tax rates.

Next, click on Enable QuickBooks to connect Ignition and QuickBooks!

Sync

If you make a change to any of the settings from within QuickBooks, or change a client name and need to see it reflected in Ignition straight away, you can click Sync to refresh the data. We also refresh this data every hour.

Please note, Ignition facilitates a 2-way sync of client information to QuickBooks. It connects your Ignition clients to QuickBooks clients through Mapping.

If you need to connect to another organization in QuickBooks, or remove the connection, simply click the Disconnect QuickBooks button and go through the steps in this article again to link them.

Note: We do not currently support the use of multiple accounting platforms at once. If you have integrated with one platform, you must switch off that integration before connecting to a different platform.

Reconnecting to a different QuickBooks account

If you wish to disconnect and reconnect to a different QuickBooks account, your clients will be remapped whenever an invoice is generated from Ignition.

Ignition will automatically search for the client name in QuickBooks and check if there is an exact match. If so, the Ignition client will automatically be mapped to the respective QuickBooks client.

If the names aren't an exact match within Ignition and QuickBooks, you will need to manually map the client by navigating to the specific client → Edit Client → Apps tab → Select the correct client to remap toSave!

Please note: We are currently unable to do remap clients in bulk.
