Your dedicated Payment Portal makes it easy for clients to securely view and pay their Ignition invoices. By sharing your portal link on your website or in communications, you reduce payment friction, improve cash flow, and give clients a seamless self-serve experience.
Where to Find Your Payment Portal Link
You can find your very own payment portal link in Settings→Payments→Pay via portal.
We recommend adding this link as a button on your website (e.g., “Pay an Invoice”) so clients can easily find it and pay outstanding invoices faster.
Note: Only invoices created in Ignition will be available for payment through the portal.
Client Experience
Accessing the Payment Portal
When clients open your Payment Portal link, they’ll be prompted to enter their email address.
This ensures a secure experience, allowing them to view only their invoices.
Receiving a Magic Link
After entering their email, clients will receive a magic link in their inbox.
They will click “View Invoices” in the email to access their account.
Important:
If the email entered does not match the one associated with their invoices in Ignition, the client will not receive the magic link and won’t be able to access their invoices. Be sure to instruct clients to use the correct email address.
Viewing and Paying Invoices
Once logged in, clients can:
View all unpaid invoices
Select one, multiple, or all invoices using checkboxes
Click Pay Now to complete payment
Viewing Invoice Details
Clients can click the “View” button beside any invoice to see full details before making a payment.
Payment options:
Use an existing saved payment method (if available)
Add a new payment method via “+ Add a new payment method”
This method can be saved for future use
After payment, clients will receive a payment receipt via email.
Best Practice
To maximize adoption and speed up payments, add your Payment Portal link to your website so it’s easy for clients to find, include it in your email signatures or invoice reminders to keep it top of mind, and clearly instruct clients to use the correct email address associated with their invoices. By making payments simple and accessible, your Payment Portal helps you get paid faster.
