Multi-entity proposals
If you work with clients that span multiple entities (e.g. family groups, trusts, companies, and individuals), you can now manage them as a single relationship and cover them all in one proposal, instead of creating a separate proposal for every entity. Multi-entity proposals are rolling out to all accounts now.
What's new
Group related entities under one client group, with a primary client
Send one proposal covering every entity ‒ choose which entity receives each service and which entity is billed for it
Your client signs once, using a single payment method for everything or a separate payment method per billed entity
Once accepted, invoicing and payment collection happen automatically for each entity
The group record shows proposals, services, and billing across the whole group

Clear decline reasons on failed card payments
When a client's card payment fails, Ignition now shows a clear, plain-language reason for the decline to both you and your client, so failed payments get resolved faster with less back-and-forth.
What's new
Failed-payment emails to you and your client now explain why the card was declined
Your client's retry payment page shows the same reason, so they know what to fix before trying again
The activity log records the decline reason on the failed payment, plus a new entry confirming when the failed-payment email was sent to your client
Service alias ‒ now available to all
Service alias has graduated from Ignition Labs and is now available to everyone. Give a service a client-facing name so your clients see naming that matches the engagement, while your internal reporting stays on the original service name.
What's new
Set a default alias on a service in your library and it applies to every future proposal automatically
Override the alias on an individual proposal for engagement-specific naming
The alias appears on the proposal, acceptance portal, engagement letter, and invoices
Internal views show both names, and your accounting ledger keeps the original service name so your revenue reporting in Xero or QuickBooks stays clean
New placeholders
Four new placeholders are now available to use anywhere placeholders work in Ignition, such as your proposals and emails.
What's new
Client financial year end ‒ populates the day and month set in the client's details
Practice phone number
Practice tax registration number (shown as Practice ABN for practices in Australia)
Practice business address
The practice details come from new fields in Settings → General. Fill those in and the placeholders will populate automatically. Learn more about placeholders here.
Unarchive clients straight from the Archived clients list
You can now unarchive a client directly from the dropdown menu on each row of the Archived clients list. No more clicking into each individual client to bring them back.
What's new in Labs
Client health (NPS) ‒ bulk send and roll-up view (Ignition Labs)
Client health lets you send clients a quick, one-question survey and see how they feel about working with you. It's now in Early Access, with two new additions that turn it from a per-client action into a view of sentiment across your whole book.
What's new
Bulk send: Select one or more clients from the Clients list and request feedback from the whole selection at once
Roll-up view: A new Client health tab on your home Insights widget shows your average health score, your total NPS score across all clients, and every response newest-first
Click any response in the roll-up to open that client's full history
Enable it from Settings → Labs. Note that bulk send skips any selected clients without an email address.
Bulk app-client mapping (Ignition Labs)
If you've connected an app like Xero, QuickBooks Online, Karbon, XPM, CCH, or Financial Cents, you can now map your app clients to your Ignition clients in bulk (one review instead of linking them one at a time).
What's new
Auto-match suggests matches between your app clients and your Ignition clients, with confidence indicators
Review the suggestions and apply them in one go
Blank fields on your Ignition clients are filled in from your connected app's data when you confirm a match
Enable it from Settings → Labs.
Retainer funding (Ignition Labs)
Practices using the Retainer balance Labs feature can now fund and top up a client's retainer through an Ignition invoice. No more collecting retainer money outside Ignition and typing the balance in manually.
What's new
A new Add to balance action on a client's retainer creates a top-up invoice
Your client pays it like any other Ignition invoice ‒ via their stored payment method or a payment request
When the invoice is paid, the retainer balance is credited automatically and recorded in the activity log
Who can access this
US practices only for now. Enable Retainer balance from Settings → Labs to get started. Note that top-ups are manual for now, and funding invoices don't sync to Xero or QuickBooks Online.
