Important Payment and Payout Information
Ignition reserves the right to decline payment processing for any business. If your business does not pass verification, any collected funds will be returned to your customer’s account.
⚠️ Tip: To avoid delays, please ensure all verification details are entered accurately when setting up payments in your account.
Payout times are not guaranteed. These timeframes provided are based on typical scenarios, but delays can occur due to issues with our third-party payment processor or their upstream partners.
Additionally, public holidays in your region may affect processing and clearing times.
First payment for your Ignition account
Please note: We may require between 3-7 business days to perform checks to verify your business during the very first time you set up and accept payments - however, this is usually much quicker. Please watch for our emails if we require more information from you and respond accordingly.
This initial verification timeline applies whether your client pays via direct debit or credit card.
You can still accept and collect payments from your clients, but payouts to your bank account will be held until your business has passed verification.
How your payout day is calculated
Payouts group together the payments processed during a single payout day. The time zone used to define that day depends on the country your account is in:

If you're in Australia or New Zealand, your payouts now follow your local business day rather than a UTC day (this changed on 15 June 2026). This means your payouts line up with your local calendar day, making them easier to track and reconcile against the payments you've collected.
Please note: If you're in Australia or New Zealand, you may see one slightly smaller payout around the 15 June 2026 switchover. This is a one-off - that deposit covers a shorter window (less than 24 hours) as your account moves to local-time payouts. Your payment totals aren't affected, and normal payout timing continues from there.
This change happens automatically and there's nothing you need to do.

First bank account collection
The first payment made by a client from their bank account may take longer.
For the USA the first payment made by a client from a particular bank account will be subject to an additional confirmation process required by regulation.
Add at least 2 business days for the first payment made by a client should your client choose to verify their account manually by micro-deposit. If verifying by internet banking, this is instant. Find out more about how clients can verify their accounts here.

First bank account collection
The first payment made by a client from their bank account may take longer.
For the UK the first payment made by a client from a particular bank account will be subject to an additional confirmation process required by regulation.
Add 3 business days for the first payment made by a client as the direct debit mandate on their account must be confirmed with their bank. Find out more about mandate confirmation here.

Other regions
Payments are only available in the USA, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand.
We have a goal to reach equality in payment support across all of Ignition's major regions and are working hard with our third-party provider to accommodate more regions.
As you can appreciate banking legislation is complex and it can take some time to navigate these systems and also be compliant with regulations, so we are often not able to provide a timeline for when we will be likely to accommodate your region.
