Ignition allows you to create multiple terms or engagement letter templates.

You no longer have to manually edit your engagement letter each time you create a proposal for client information! Ignition takes care of updating the client and service-specific details for each engagement.

Getting Started

The terms template is where you will set up your contract terms and conditions.

If you don't have a set of terms already, we recommend reaching out to a lawyer, your professional association, or your professional indemnity insurance provider.

The example terms template

Each Ignition account is pre-loaded with our example terms template, Industry Standard Engagement Terms. You can copy the contents and then use it as a starting point and add your own legalities and clauses.

Please note: You are accepting responsibility (and any associated risks) for using this template in your account. Ignition accepts no responsibility or liability for your use. We strongly recommend you double-check with your lawyer, professional association, or indemnity insurance provider prior to engaging your clients with this template.

Import your engagement letter

Add your existing Letter of Engagement or Terms and Conditions to Ignition by creating a new Terms Template.

To add a new terms template, go to the Library β†’ Terms β†’ + New terms template.

To import your engagement letter from an existing document, you can copy and paste the content into the terms template. Once imported, you can bring your engagement letters to life with our placeholders and rich text editor. See this article for more details on formatting.

Using placeholders

Placeholders act as merge fields, completely automating your engagement letter with all the important information you need to include. No need to find and replace! Learn more about placeholders here.

Click Placeholders to find and select the right placeholder and insert it into the template.

Dynamic content with Liquid

The Terms Templates are supported by Liquid for more dynamic and customized content. Liquid uses a combination of objects, tags, and filters inside template files to display dynamic content.

For example: You can add comments that will not be rendered/displayed by wrapping text in {% comment %} and {% endcomment %} tags.
