ProConnect is a tax preparation software by Intuit. Connect Ignition with ProConnect to make engaging clients and getting paid this tax season a breeze.

Import your ProConnect clients into Ignition, filter clients by return type, and send tax proposals to multiple clients in bulk using templates. Once your clients sign the proposal, Ignition automatically raises invoices, collects payments, and marks invoices as paid in QuickBooks.

Please note: This integration is only available in the USA and on Pro, Pro+and Scale plans.

Connecting to ProConnect

Go to the Apps tab → select ProConnect tile → click Connect to your account.

Sign in using Intuit SSO or your ProConnect credentials. Please note: Master Admin access in ProConnect is needed to connect and use the integration. Additionally, only Admin users in Ignition can connect integrations.

Syncing of data

The ProConnect integration, when connected, will sync data one way from ProConnect to Ignition only, on a daily basis. It is not currently possible for Ignition to send updates back to Proconnect.

This means we suggest making any client changes in ProConnect and to avoid changing any client details in Ignition as they will be overwritten by the sync.

If you have updated any company details in ProConnect and would like to sync the changes to Ignition immediately, navigate to the Apps tabProConnect tile → click Sync.

Please note: Only 1 connected app can have client name sync turned on.

Client creation and sync

Once the integration is set up, import your ProConnect clients directly to Ignition.

To import, navigate to the Clients tab → click the App clients button.

The Import screen will list all your ProConnect clients.

You can search and filter for specific client names and return type.

Click a client to convert it to an Ignition client, or link it to an existing Ignition client to set-up automatic syncing.

Convert to an Ignition client

Ignition will import your client list from ProConnect to allow you to select from clients from ProConnect and individually convert them to an Ignition client.

To convert a ProConnect client to an Ignition client, navigate to the Clients tab click the App clients button. A full client list from ProConnect will be accessible here, find the client you would like to convert → click the three dots and select Convert to Ignition client.

Link to an existing client

If you have existing Ignition clients that you would like to link to the equivalent company in ProConnect, you can do this by editing the client record. Linking to an existing client allows you to create a link between an existing Ignition client and the record in ProConnect, to prevent creating a new duplicate client.

To link a Proconnect client to an existing Ignition client, navigate to the Clients tab click the App clients button. A full client list from ProConnect will be accessible here, find the client you would like to link→ click the three dots and select Link to Ignition client.

Duplicate detection

If you convert an app client to an Ignition client, Ignition will first check for any potential matches in Ignition to prevent duplicates clients.

If a duplicate is detected because of a matching email address or the same client name, you'll have the opportunity to link your app client with that Ignition client instead of converting them.

Please note: There has to be an exact match of the client name or email address in order for Ignition to raise the potential duplicate. Please ensure that your ProConnect client data has been reviewed before converting/linking clients in Ignition.

Filters

Filter clients by ProConnect return type in the Clients tab to tailor your proposals. Use the Tags filter in the Clients tab to see a filtered list of ProConnect clients and their return type.

Select More filters Tags → Return type (i.e. 1040).
