What is Ignition?
Founded in 2013, Ignition is a leading client engagement platform for accounting and professional services businesses that makes doing business together a breeze.
Ignition is used to generate proposals that can be signed electronically, collect payment information, generate invoices and process payments. This means time savings for both you and your service provider!
There are currently over 7000 businesses using Ignition to securely engage over 1.7 million of their clients.
Accepting a proposal
Accepting and signing an Ignition proposal is simple and makes printing, signing and scanning documents a thing of the past! While the process is straightforward, below is some additional information on certain sections of a proposal
Options
When viewing a proposal, you may be presented with numerous options to choose from if your service provider has enabled this feature. Click on an option to view more details, and if you’re happy with that option, you can proceed. If you’d like to choose another option, simply click on the previous or Options button on the navigation bar at any time.
Add-ons
Your provider may include optional services to add to your agreement. To add a service, simply click on the green Add button next to the relevant service. If you need to remove a service you have added, hover over the Added button and click Remove.
Pricing
The pricing page will give a summary of when and how often you will be billed for services.
Billed on acceptance means that once you accept the proposal, you will be billed for the one off amount displayed here. In the case where it displays, Prices to be confirmed, your service provider will need to confirm the final amount prior to billing.
Billed on completion means that your service provider will bill for this service once completed.
Recurring billing will show you the frequency and quantity of billing for services that occur more than once.
Deposit will consist of a one-off part payment for the service with the balance to be billed at a later date.
Catch up billing In some instances, the start date of billing may have been set to date prior to the day you accept the proposal. If there are any catch up billings due at the time of proposal acceptance, this will be clearly displayed in a yellow box on the pricing page.
Payment
If your provider has chosen to use Ignition payments, you’ll be able to securely enter your payment information to enable your provider to collect payment for services they provide.
Ignition partners with global payment processor, Stripe, to facilitate payments. Credit card and direct debit details are never stored by Ignition and sensitive payment details are transmitted directly to our payment provider (Stripe) over SSL connections. This means you have peace of mind that payment information is secure and is not visable to your provider or Ignition.
If you need to change or remove your payment details in the future, please contact your service provider and they can provide you with a secure payment portal link. If you need to escalate any payment related issues, you can contact the Ignition support team at help@ignitionapp.com
You can learn more about payments in this article.
Sign & accept
When you tick the terms agreement button and type in your name to the signature field, you are agreeing to terms set out in the agreement from your provider that are displayed on this page in addition to the Ignition terms of use.
Metadata such as the date and time of signing and your IP address will be recorded to help with the attribution of the signature.
Once you press accept, your provider will be notified and you’ll be emailed a confirmation that will include a PDF copy of the agreement for your records.
