Service descriptions are critical to defining the scope of work you are delivering. Any form of fixed fees requires a clearly defined scope of work in writing. Taking extra time initially to clearly outline your services will allow for easier management of scope creep later on.

Quickly create professional, compelling service descriptions using AI within Ignition to save time creating or refining your services and put you and your clients on the same page from the start.

To use the AI-enabled service description feature, navigate to the Services → select a service.

Click Suggest description and wait up to 30 seconds for a description to be generated based on the service name.

To refine the AI-generated description, open the Refine dropdown:

Review the description and click Use to have the description replace the content in the service description. This will remove any existing text in the service description field.

We recommend that you review and edit the description as needed before you, hit Save. Once you’ve saved the service, it will overwrite any existing description for the service.

The only data that is provided to the AI is the Service name, Industry and Country - nothing else. This means your data is secure and always has been.

Easily identify what services are in need of a description using the filtering in the Service library. To filter, click Filters → Has a description: No.

Who can use the AI-enabled service description feature?

This feature is restricted to Admin users since only they possess access and editing rights to the Service library

How can I enhance the AI-enabled service description?

Currently, you can only use the Refine prompts (Simplify, Elaborate & Shorten). The feature is based on the Service Name so you can adjust the name as needed.

Is the AI-enabled service description only available in the Service Library?

Yes, currently the feature is only available in the Service Library. Not available for Instant Bill, Service Edits or within the proposal editor.

Is my data being used in the AI-enabled service description prompt?

The only data that is required for this feature is the Service name you provide, your Industry and Country. This is extracted from the survey you've answered upon signup which helps to regionalise the content in your Ignition account. The service name will be different depending on the service that's being edited/created.

How secure is my data when I’m using this feature?

This feature follows the same level of security as Ignition’s other features. The only data that is provided to the AI is the Service name, Industry and Country - nothing else. This means your data is secure and always has been.
