Ignition uses public security tokens for all proposal links that are automatically generated by the system.
URL's or links that are generated will have a 48 hour expiration date from when the link is generated. After this, your client will need to generate a new link that will be instantly sent to their email.
What does this look like to my clients?
When your clients views a proposal like that has expired, they will receive this page below requesting them to generate a new link.
They then will receive an email with a new link ready to use in their email:
How long do clients have until the links expire?
Clients will have 48 hours from the time the link was generated before they expire for security reasons.
However, it's very easy for them to receive a new link.
Example:
You send a client a proposal at 11:30am today.
48 hour timer starts at 11:30am, and will expire afterward.
If your client clicked on the link within the 48 hours, they will be able to view their proposal.
If the client clicked on the link in 3 days time (after the 48 hour period), they can request to generate a new secure link in another email that will be immediately sent.
How does this work with proposal expiry?
This security feature works together with the proposal expiry feature.
If a client wants to access their proposal, they'll have to generate a new link first if it's expired, to view when their proposal expires.
Then, if the proposal has expired then the client will be prompted to reach out to you for a new proposal.
