Reports gives you a library of ready-made reports inside Ignition, built on the billing, payment, proposal and client data already in your account. Know where the business stands: track revenue, sales, clients, and collections, all in one place, one click away under Reports.
đşđ¸ This feature is available in the US on Pro+ and Enterprise plans.
Interactive demo
Add reports to your Reports page
The Reports page is fully customizable. It starts empty, and you choose what goes on it from the library of prebuilt reports. To begin:
Open Reports from the navigation.
Click Add reports.
Browse the library, grouped into Overview, Revenue, Sales, Clients and Collections. Select a report to see a live preview of it with your own data.
Click Add. The report shows a â Added badge and appears on your Reports page.
Your added reports appear as chips across the top of the page. Click a chip to view that report. Reports you add are saved to your own view, so each person with access builds their own set.
Removing a report
Hover over the report's chip, click the three dots, then choose Remove and confirm. You can also remove a report from inside Add reports. Removing a report just takes it off your page; you can add it back any time from the library.
Working with a report
Every report is interactive:
Filter by date range, client, partner, manager, service or client tag, depending on the report.
See the records behind a number. Click a value in a chart or table, then choose Show all. A detail view opens with the underlying records, like the invoices, payments or proposals that make up the number.
Download the data. In the detail view, click Download to take those records with you, or use a tile's menu to download what it shows.
Who can use Reports
Your plan includes Reports access for a set number of users:
Pro+ includes access for one user.
Enterprise includes access for two users.
The principal admin will have access to Reports by default. Report access can be moved between users at any time.
â ď¸ Anyone with Reports access sees business-wide revenue. Reports covers your whole business, whatever a person's role, and there is no way to give someone only some of the reports. The single control you have is who you give access to, so choose with that in mind.
If your plan doesn't include Reports, opening it shows what's available on Pro+ and Enterprise, with a link to your upgrade options.
If you're on Pro+ or Enterprise and don't see Reports in your navigation yet, it may not have reached your account. Reports is rolling out progressively; reach out to Support if you think you should have it.
Give access to Reports
Admin users manage Reports access from the Users tab:
Navigate to Settings â Users and open the user.
Turn on Allow user to view Reports.
Save. The user sees Reports in their navigation the next time they load Ignition.
The users list shows a Reports badge next to everyone who currently has access.
Moving access to someone else
On the Users page, turn off the Reports toggle for the current user, then turn it on for the new user.
If your plan includes one user access to Reports and itâs already assigned, turning on access for a new user opens the Give access to Reports? confirmation. This dialog shows who currently has access and who will lose it. Confirm to move access immediately. When youâre granting access to yourself, the dialog is titled Take access to Reports?
If your plan includes multiple Reports user access and all are in use, turn off access for one user before assigning it to someone new. Otherwise, youâll see:
âAll Reports access is in use. Remove access from another user first, then try again.â
Moving access doesnât delete any reports users have created, and you can move access back at any time.
When someone leaves your business
Deactivating or removing a user frees up their access automatically. Nothing extra to do.
Important information
Data refreshes regularly, not instantly. Results can be up to an hour behind, so a payment taken a few minutes ago may not appear yet.
The library is fixed. You can filter, explore and download any report, but custom report building isn't available.
Reports aren't delivered by email or on a schedule. Open Reports to see the latest.
Everyone with access sees every report, including business-wide revenue. Controls to limit which reports a user can see aren't available yet. Today, the way to control who sees business-wide numbers is who you give access to.
Reports are per workspace. If your business uses Multi-Office, each workspace has its own Reports view of its own data. A combined organization-wide view isn't available yet.
FAQs
Does Reports cost extra?
No. It's included with Pro+ and Enterprise plans. Pro+ includes access for one user and Enterprise for two, and new Enterprise agreements can negotiate a different number.
Can I export the data?
Yes. Every report lets you download the data behind it. To bring Ignition data into your own reporting tools, see the Reporting API.
Can I build my own custom reports?
Not in Ignition. The report library is fixed, but every report is interactive: filter by date range, client, partner, manager, service or client tag, click into any number to see the records behind it, and download those records. If you want to build your own analysis, the Reporting API gives you Ignition data in your own tools.
How often does the data refresh?
About every hour. Something recorded in the last few minutes may not show yet, so a payment you've just taken can be missing from a total until the next refresh. Nothing is lost â it appears on the next update.
Can more of my team get access?
Reports is included for one user on Pro+ and two on Enterprise, and you can move access between users at any time. Additional access isn't available to purchase yet. Contact us to register your interest.
Can I control which reports someone sees?
Not yet. Access includes every report, including business-wide revenue, so today the control is who you give access to.
What happens to someone's added reports if their access is removed?
They're kept. If that person gets access again later, their setup is restored.
What happens to Reports if we cancel our Ignition subscription?
Access ends when the cancellation takes effect. Added reports are kept, so if your account becomes eligible again, everyone picks up where they left off.
Why don't I see Reports in my navigation?
One of three reasons:
Your plan doesn't include Reports. It's available on Pro+ and Enterprise.
Your account hasn't been switched on yet. Reports is rolling out progressively, and it appears in your navigation once it reaches you. Nobody in your business can bring that forward.
You don't have access. Your business has Reports, but the access included in your plan is held by other people. An admin can turn it on for you in Settings â Users.
The exception is admins: once Reports reaches your business, admins who manage users see Reports in the navigation even before they hold access themselves, and opening it shows how to turn it on. Everyone else sees the entry only once access is turned on for them.
If someone sends you a link to Reports and you can't open it, the heading on the page tells you which of the three applies.
