Track every payment you collect from clients through Ignition, from the day it's scheduled until it reaches your bank account.
See what's being collected now, when it's estimated to pay out, and what needs your attention. Use search and filters to find the details you need.
Note: The updated Collections page is rolling out to customers in phases. If you still see an Outstanding tab, read The Collections tab instead.

Upcoming payouts
At the top of the page, you'll see three tiles: Next payout, Paying soon and Processing. Select one to see the payments estimated to reach your bank account on that date.
[Screenshot: The Collections tab, showing the payout tiles and the All tab]
Next payout | Your client's bank approved the payment, and it's estimated to reach your account by the date shown. |
Paying soon | The payment is in progress. See the Collecting and Collected statuses under Payment progress statuses. |
Processing | Collection has started, but your client's bank hasn't approved or rejected it yet. |
Note: If you check on a Friday or Saturday, the date shown is the next business day, because payments aren't processed on weekends. Public holidays can push this date out too.
Tabs
The Collections table is split into tabs by payment status:
All
Scheduled
Collecting
Failed
Paid
Refunds & disputes
US only: You'll also see an Awaiting verification tab. UK only: You'll also see an Awaiting confirmation tab.
Looking for unpaid invoices? You'll find them under Invoices → Unpaid. To see the ones with no payment attached, set the Has payment collection filter to No.
Scheduled
This tab shows payments that are scheduled but haven't started yet. You can still reschedule or cancel these payments.
Tip: The Payment progress bar on each row shows which step of the collection process a payment has reached. See Payment progress statuses.
Collecting
This tab shows payments currently being collected from your client. Bank payments can take a few business days to finish.
Reschedule or cancel a payment
Select ⋮ at the end of the payment's row.
Select Reschedule payment or Cancel payment.
[Screenshot: The row menu, showing Reschedule payment and Cancel payment]
The actions available depend on the payment's status.
When you reschedule, choose to collect the payment Now or on a Specific date. You can reschedule a payment that hasn't been collected yet, or one that failed or was canceled.
You can cancel a payment before collection starts. You'll be asked to confirm.
Note: If you use Xero or QuickBooks, canceling a payment means the invoice is no longer awaiting payment. You can collect payment manually, or set up payment collection again in Ignition. See collecting payments on invoices created in the past.
Failed
This tab shows payments your client's bank or card provider rejected. The Reason column explains why each one failed, such as insufficient funds or an expired card. If no reason is available, the column shows a dash.
To try again, select ⋮ → Reschedule payment.

Accelerated bank account payouts
In the US, Australia and the UK, some Ignition accounts support accelerated bank account payouts. Ignition transfers your client's payment to your account before collection finishes, so the money may already be in your account while the status still shows Collecting or Collected.
This applies to bank account payments only. Card payments follow their own timeline. Learn more about payment processing times.
