Ending a client's services

You can end an individual service, all services for a client, all active and upcoming services attached to an accepted proposal, or services attached to multiple accepted proposals.

What does ending a service do?

Ending a service takes effect immediately:

  • Billing for the listed services stops today.

  • Uninvoiced charges for those services are removed.

  • Listed upcoming services are cancelled.

  • Invoices that have already been issued are not changed.

When ending services from a proposal, only services attached to that agreement are affected. Services attached to another agreement, including a separate renewal agreement, remain unchanged.

How do I end a service?

End services from an accepted proposal

To end services on an accepted proposal, navigate to the Proposal tab → select the proposal with services you would like to end → click the three dots → End Services.

Verify that the listed services are the ones you want to end, then click End Services.

Only services attached to that agreement will be ended. Services belonging to a separate agreement, such as a renewal proposal, will not be affected.

End a specific service

To end a specific service, go to the Clients tab and select the client. Open the Services tab, select the service you want to end, then click More actions → End Service in the details drawer. Confirm the action.

End all services for a client

To end all services for a client, navigate to the client's file under the Services tab click End all services. Confirm the action.

End services across multiple proposals

To end services from multiple proposals, navigate to the Proposals tab select the accepted proposals you want to action. Select More actions, then End services.

Review the services that will be ended, enter END SERVICES, and confirm. Services are ended only for the selected agreements.

FAQs

Can I undo this action?

No, this action cannot be reversed. Only use this action if you will no longer be providing this service to a client.

To re-create a service, you will need to create a new proposal and have it accepted or use the Bill without a proposal features.

What happens when all active services are ended?

Your client will be marked as Inactive and the proposals that are associated with the active services will automatically switch to a Completed status.

What is a Cancelled service?

This status is uncommon and occurs when a renewal proposal has been accepted, but the service is cancelled before it begins.

Once a service is cancelled before its start date, it can’t be reactivated. Cancelling at this stage breaks the renewal chain, so the service can’t be moved back to Active. If the client wants to continue, a new service will need to be created.
