Simplified invoicing ‒ now available to all

Creating an invoice in Ignition just got a whole lot easier. Our new simplified invoice flow is now available to all accounts, giving you a fast, straightforward way to invoice clients for one-off or recurring work ‒ without the complexity of a full proposal.

What's new:

  • Create invoice: A streamlined new flow that makes it quick and easy to send an invoice to any client.

  • Additional services: The Instant Bill feature you know and love has been reframed as "Additional services," making it easy to charge for ad hoc or out-of-scope work.

  • Editable due dates: Set or adjust the invoice due date, and your payment collection date updates automatically.

  • More entry points: Start a new invoice directly from the Clients table or the Services tab on a client record.

Whether you're invoicing a new client for the first time or charging for out-of-scope work, the new flow is designed to get you from creation to payment faster.

Client groups

You can now create client groups in Ignition to organize related clients ‒ whether they're multiple entities under one business, family members, or any other grouping that makes sense for your business.

What you need to know:

  • Client groups are available to all Ignition customers.

  • If you're connected to a practice management system like XPM or FYI, your existing client groups will sync automatically.

  • This is a foundational release ‒ group proposals and more group-based features are coming soon.

Client groups give you better visibility across related clients and set the stage for powerful new capabilities down the line.

Milestone billing (beta)

We're introducing milestone billing in Ignition Labs ‒ a new way to structure billing around project milestones, so you can invoice clients at key stages of a project rather than on a fixed recurring schedule.

How to get started:

  • Head to Labs in your account settings to enable the Milestone Billing feature.

  • Once enabled, you'll see a new billing grouping option in the proposal editor.

  • Milestone billing works with proposal templates, renewals, and duplicating proposals ‒ just like deposits do today.

Please note: This is a beta release, and we'd love your feedback. If you have thoughts on how milestone billing is working for your business, reach out to our team ‒ your input will directly shape how we refine and expand this feature.

Price insights ‒ now in more places

AI-powered Price Insights are now available in three additional places across Ignition, putting pricing guidance right where you're making pricing decisions:

  • Simple invoices: Run a price analysis on a service while creating an invoice.

  • Bulk renew / bulk create proposals: Review pricing insights when renewing or creating proposals in bulk to keep pricing consistent across client agreements.

  • Bulk price updates: Check market data before applying price changes across your service library.

No more switching between screens ‒ Price Insights now meets you where the pricing decisions happen.

Redesigned client record

The client record summary page has had a major refresh, making it easier to find the information you need and manage your clients more efficiently.

Here's what's changed:

  • Client details front and centre: Improved layout for editing client information and viewing activity.

  • Clearer contact details: Easily see which contacts are primary, who the signatories are, and who receives emails via Ignition.

  • Organized opportunities: Proposals, Deals, and Classic proposals are now grouped together under Opportunities.

  • Forms section: Forms now have a dedicated home with helpful prompts to guide you in creating new deals, proposals, or forms.

  • Improved notes: Notes now match the experience you're used to in Deals, with the ability to tag team members and trigger notifications.

This is just the beginning ‒ the Invoices and Billing schedule pages are next on the list for a refresh in Q2. Stay tuned.

Select and pay multiple invoices on the payment portal

Your clients now have more flexibility when paying outstanding invoices. Instead of paying everything at once, they can select one, some, or all unpaid invoices on the Payment Portal ‒ making it easier for them to manage payments on their terms and increasing the chances you get paid sooner.

Customizable payment email templates

You can now edit five payment-related email templates that were previously system-generated, giving you full control over the language and tone your clients receive:

  • Payment failure notice

  • Payment receipt

  • Unpaid invoice reminder ‒ due soon

  • Unpaid invoice reminder ‒ overdue

  • Payment method request

Customize these templates to match your brand voice and maintain a professional, consistent client experience across every payment touchpoint.

Refreshed Ignition email design

We've started rolling out a brand-new look for Ignition's system emails. You'll notice updated branding, a cleaner layout with a modern rounded card design, refreshed brand colours, and a consistent "Powered by Ignition" footer. These updates are rolling out across email templates over the coming weeks to ensure every communication looks polished and unmistakably Ignition.

Redesigned two-factor authentication setup

Setting up two-factor authentication (MFA) in Ignition now looks and feels much better. We've modernized the setup flow with a cleaner card-based layout, updated typography, and clearer options for choosing between an authentication app or SMS verification.

The security behind the scenes hasn't changed ‒ just a smoother, more polished experience when securing your account.
