A new home for your invoices (Invoices tab)
Invoices now have a dedicated, account-level home ‒ a top-level page where you can see and act on every invoice across all of your clients in one place, without clicking into individual client records.
What's new
See all invoices across every client in a single view
Filter by Unpaid and Paid, with a live count on each tab
Select invoices across multiple clients and action them together
See at a glance which invoices are connected to your accounting ledger
Check the status of each client's payment method right from the row
When you first land on the new Invoices page, a short in-app tour walks you through what's changed and the actions available to you.
Scheduled invoices
A new Scheduled view under the Billing tab gives you a clear, forward-looking picture of the invoices coming up ‒ no more clicking through individual records to see what's queued.
What's new
A new Scheduled tab under Billing, sitting below Unbilled
Slice by timeframe: All, This month, Next month, This quarter
See up to 365 days of upcoming invoices
Columns at a glance: invoice date, client, payment method, and amount
Edit any upcoming invoice directly (exporting and bulk actions are on the way)
Bulk create invoices
You can now create and send invoices to multiple clients in one go, directly from Ignition ‒ ideal for billing the same service across a group of clients, such as an annual fee.
What's new
Select two or more clients to invoice
Choose one or more services to add
Confirm and send ‒ invoices are created and emailed to every selected client at once
Guest checkout on the payment portal
Clients can now pay you without a payment link. The Payment Portal login screen includes a Pay without a link option, so clients settling an ad hoc amount or paying from outside your usual invoicing flow can go straight to checkout ‒ no magic link required.
Service categories ‒ now available to all
Service categories have graduated from Ignition Labs and are now available to everyone. Categorize your service library to organize, filter, and report on your services at scale ‒ without naming workarounds that clutter your proposals and invoices.
What's new
Assign a category to any service item
Create and manage your own custom categories
Filter and search your services list by category
Categories stay internal ‒ they never appear on client-facing proposals or invoices
Use category as a dimension in your reporting exports
FYI integration
The FYI integration keeps Ignition and FYI in sync at the moments that matter most in your onboarding flow, so you're not maintaining the same client record in two places or setting up jobs by hand.
What's new
Client sync ‒ clients created in Ignition flow into FYI with their core details mapped across, and clients can also be imported into Ignition from FYI
Job deployment on proposal acceptance ‒ when a client accepts an Ignition proposal, the matching job(s) are deployed automatically in FYI, ready for your team to pick up
Who can access this
Available to customers in AU, NZ, and the UK on Pro and Pro+ plans. Learn more in our FYI integration support article.
Karbon Legacy connection retired ‒ action needed
The legacy Karbon integration has been retired. If you were connected to Karbon Legacy, your connection has been disabled and you'll need to manually reconnect to the new Karbon integration to keep deploying work items. Your existing work item and client mappings will be intact once you reconnect.
What's new in Labs
Drawdown retainers (Ignition Labs)
A lightweight way to bill against a client's prepaid retainer balance, now available to try in Ignition Labs.
What's new
Choose Retainer billing as the payment option on a simple invoice to draw the amount down against the client's balance
A retainer balance widget on the client summary that you can update as work is billed
To turn it on, head to Settings → Labs. This is an early experiment ‒ the retainer balance is managed manually, and we'd love your feedback.
Import QuickBooks Online recurring invoices as additional services (Ignition Labs)
QuickBooks Online firms can now import their recurring QBO invoices straight into Ignition as active billing schedules ‒ no proposal and no client signature required ‒ making migration much faster.
What's new
Select recurring invoices from your QBO ledger and import them as active additional services
Line-level detail is preserved, and the first invoice issues immediately
No client email is sent on import, so you control when and how clients hear about the change
QuickBooks Online only for now. Turn it on in Settings → Labs. Remember to switch off the original recurring transaction in QuickBooks to avoid double-billing.
Service alias (Ignition Labs)
Show clients a friendly, deliverable-specific service name while keeping your internal reporting clean.
What's new
Set a default alias at the service library level so it applies to future proposals
Override the alias per proposal for engagement-specific naming
The alias appears on the proposal, acceptance portal, engagement letter, and invoices
Internal views show both names, and your accounting ledger keeps the original service name
Enable it from Settings → Labs.
Client health (Ignition Labs)
Collect client sentiment right inside Ignition. A new Client health card on the client record lets you send a quick, one-question survey and track how clients feel over time.
What's new
Send a single client a short survey (a 0–10 score plus an optional comment)
See their latest score as a colour-coded gauge ‒ Promoter, Passive, or Detractor
View a full history of responses for each client
Enable it from Settings → Labs.
Bill QuickBooks time in Ignition (Ignition Labs)
QuickBooks Online firms billing by the hour can now pull unbilled QuickBooks time entries straight into an Ignition invoice ‒ no double entry, no manual re-keying.
What's new
A prompt appears in the simple invoice editor and the client billing schedule when a client has unbilled time in QBO
Each time entry becomes its own invoice line, with the original date and notes preserved
Remove any entries before sending ‒ removed entries stay billable in QBO for next time
When the invoice deploys to QBO, the included entries are automatically marked as billed
QuickBooks only. Turn it on in Settings → Labs, and see our guide to billing QuickBooks time activities for the full walkthrough.
Ignition-generated invoice PDFs (Ignition Labs)
Ignition can now generate an invoice PDF and attach it to your client invoice emails automatically.
What's new
For customers without a connected ledger, a detailed invoice PDF is attached to client invoice emails
PDFs include your practice, client, and invoice details, along with service line items
Pro plans and above can choose to show or hide service descriptions in General Settings
Customers with a connected ledger can switch between their ledger PDF and the Ignition PDF
Enable it from Settings → Labs.
Change orders (beta)
Change orders make it easy to apply approved changes to an already-accepted proposal ‒ adjusting a service's price or description, adding new services, or removing them ‒ without starting a fresh proposal. Your client reviews and accepts the change, and it's recorded against the original proposal, so future renewals pick up the latest version.
Change orders are currently in a closed beta with a limited group of customers. If you'd like to take part, head to the Labs tab in Ignition and register your interest on the Change orders tile.
