Milestone Billing
Milestone Billing has graduated from Ignition Labs and is now part of Ignition for every practice ‒ no need to turn it on. Bill services across as many stages as the work actually has, with an invoice raised and payment collected at each milestone.
What's new
A rebuilt editor with an Add milestone button, per-row delete, and inline rename
An inline date picker for each milestone, with a banner if a milestone date falls in the past
Transaction-based collections
If your account bills clients on a payment plan, the Collections table now shows every individual payment as it lands, rather than just the invoice total ‒ giving you a clearer, more accurate view of your cash flow. The Outstanding tab has also moved: unpaid invoices with no collection schedule now live on the Invoices page.
Who can access this
Live now for accounts using payment-plan billing. We're watching how this new view works before rolling it out more broadly.
Send documents for signature without a proposal
You can now send a document for signature straight from a client's record ‒ no proposal required. It's a fast way to get a signature on an engagement letter, authorization, or any other document outside your usual proposal flow.
What's new
Send for signature directly from the Client section
Uses the same signable-document allowance as documents sent through a proposal, and requires a Document Template with signature fields already placed
Who can access this
Available on Pro plans and above. Learn more in Send a document for signature without a proposal.
Client Health NPS
Client Health NPS has graduated from Ignition Labs and is now generally available. Send a quick, one-question survey to gauge how a client feels, and see their latest score as a colour-coded Promoter, Passive, or Detractor gauge right on their client record.
What's new
A history drawer showing every past response for a client
Bulk send surveys from the Clients list
A roll-up view on the home Insights widget showing your average health score and every response, newest first
Who can access this
Available to all Ignition customers on Pro and higher, on by default.
Multi-Office Organizations
If your firm runs more than one Ignition account ‒ across multiple locations, brands, or entities ‒ you can now link them under a single Organization, with one login for switching between accounts and one consolidated subscription covering every linked account.
Who can access this
Requires an Enterprise subscription. Since setup involves migrating existing accounts, reach out to your account manager to get started.
Dark mode
Ignition now supports dark mode. Set your appearance to dark, light, or match your system preference from the profile menu ‒ your choice is remembered across sessions. Client-facing pages stay light.
Upcoming payment reminders (US)
US practices can now give clients a heads-up before Ignition collects a scheduled payment. Turn on upcoming payment reminders and clients get an automatic email a set number of days before their card or bank account is charged.
What's new
A new toggle in Settings → Payments → Payment reminders (off by default)
Choose how many days ahead to notify clients, from 1 to 14 (default 3)
Works for both card and ACH payments
Who can access this
Available to any US practice accepting card or ACH payments. Learn more in Upcoming payment reminders.
End services from a proposal
Ending the services on an accepted proposal is now much faster. End them individually or in bulk, directly from the proposal or from More actions in the Proposals table ‒ no more matching each service back to the proposal number by hand.
What's new
Review exactly which services will end before anything happens
Bulk actions require you to type END SERVICES to confirm
Billing stops immediately: uninvoiced charges are removed and upcoming services cancelled, though already-issued invoices don't change
Clearer client comms and template onboarding
It's now easier to see exactly what emails your clients receive, when they receive them, and how much control you have over that flow ‒ along with clearer guidance for building your proposal and email templates. Find it under Templates → Proposal and Email.
What's new in Labs
Advanced Roles and Permissions (Ignition Labs)
Firms are no longer stuck choosing between Admin and Member. Three new roles ‒ Sales, Billing, and Viewer ‒ join Administrator and Member, so you can give people access that matches their actual job.
What's new
Manage Roles (Settings → Users) lets you see exactly what each role can do, and customize permissions per practice
Navigation, Home, the proposal editor, Billing Schedule, Client Summary, invoices, and Apps all respect each user's permissions
Restricted pages and actions stay visible but disabled with a clear tooltip, and sensitive figures like revenue and cash flow are hidden entirely for users without access
Enable it from Settings → Labs.
AI Service Creator (Ignition Labs)
AI Service Creator turns the information you already have ‒ emails, call transcripts, engagement letters, SOWs, or a plain-English description ‒ into structured, review-ready services in your library.
What's new
While building a proposal, upload a document and AI pulls out the relevant services, matching them against your existing library and flagging anything new
From the Services tab, upload documents or describe your offerings in plain English to build out your service library
Nothing is added without you reviewing it first
New signups get this switched on automatically. Existing accounts can enable it from Settings → Labs.
