In Ignition, accepted proposals generate active services. Active services in turn, generate billing items.
It's not possible to make changes to the accepted proposal (i.e. agreement or contract) as it is a record of agreement. However, you can make changes to a client's services and the subsequent billing items.
This article lists different ways to make changes to services and billing depending on what you want to achieve.
I want to change a service
If you wish to change a specific service, you can edit the active service and make any changes you like.
Common use cases include changing a services:
Billing date
Price
Xero or QBO account codes
I want to add an additional service
There are a few ways that you can add an additional service to a client's agreement.
Create an instant bill (simply adds the service without a proposal or client signature)
Create a new proposal (use this when you need a client signature)
Renew an existing proposal (use this when you wish to overwrite an existing proposal)
I want to send new terms or a new agreement
Create a new proposal (use this when you need to issue new terms)
I need to pause invoices and/or payments
Invoices continue, but payment is paused
Navigate to your client's Billing Schedule tab.
Open any invoice that you wish to pause or reschedule payments on
Either reschedule the payment to a later date, or set the Payment Details on that specific billing item to "Arrange Manually".
Review and confirm the changes.
Pause both invoices and payments
Navigate to your client's Billing Schedule tab.
Under the Billed Automatically section, open any billing item you wish to pause both the invoices and payments on.
Set the Billing mode to "Manually"
Review and confirm the changes.
Ending a proposal or agreement early (i.e. disengagement)
If you need to end a proposal early, here are a few ways you can do this:
End all services for a client (this will end all services and mark the client as inactive)
Create a client termination or disengagement letter (when you wish to send your client a formal disengagement)
